Dr. Siddhartha

Siddhartha "Sidd" Padmanabha, M.D.

Dr. Sidd Padmanabha grew up in Southern California. He graduated from Caltech in 1994 and then attended medical school at the University of California (UCSF.) He stayed on in the Bay Area for an internship in General Surgery at UCSF Medical Center.

Dr. Padmanabha trained in Radiation Oncology at Yale-New Haven hospital, and served as the Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Padmanabha has several publications in basic and applied research. He delivered an oral presentation on his research in glioma growth at the main radiation oncology meeting (ASTRO) in 2007.

Dr. Padmanabha has expertise in stereotactic radiosurgery - particularly to the lung, spine, and liver; benign and malignant CNS tumors; head and neck radiation therapy; and brachytherapy. He sought specific training in prostate and gynecological high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy at specialized, high-volume referral center. Palliative care is another interest of Dr. Padmanabha; he worked at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford, one of the oldest and most established inpatient hospices in the nation.

Within radiation oncology, Dr. Padmanabha has an interest in maximizing quality of life outcomes while delivering effective treatment. His goal is to remain accessible and helpful to patients and their families.

Dr. Padmanabha fell in love with New Orleans nearly immediately. He is very excited about his practice at East Jefferson and his new home. He lives in the Carrolton neighborhood with his girlfriend.

His hobbies include farming, gardening, traveling, and exploring the great culinary traditions of New Orleans. He is among the founding members of the nonprofit New Orleans Food Co-op.
