Our physicians at EJ Radiation have been treating patients for a long time with lung radiosurgery. Lung radiosurgery (aka lung SRS) involves the delivery of very accurate, highly-focused radiation that is designed to definitively control and cure a lung cancer.
A number of studies over the last decade have shown excellent tumor control rates. For the patient, it means your lung cancer is typically treated in three, four, or five radiation sessions, which take about one hour per sessoin. This offers a new outpatient, non-invasive and potentially curative option for patients who are poor surgical candidate or who refuse surgery.
